Annual Open Day and Enrolment
Thursday 14th June at Caryford Hall
What is the U3A?
U3A stands for University of the Third Age. It is a self-help organisation for people no longer in full time employment, providing educational, creative and leisure opportunities in a friendly environment. Our local group covers a wide area and is known by the name Camelot. Local U3A’s are individual charities and run entirely by volunteers. They learning cooperatives which draw upon the knowledge, experience and skills of their own members to organise and provide interest groups in accordance to the wishes of the membership. The U3A movement is supported by its national organisation, the Third Age Trust.
In Camelot Group we have some 30 activity groups catering for different interests, some activity based, others study or discussion based, including art, bridge, creative writing, digital photography, discussion, flower and craft, French, German, history, Latin, literature, lunches, mah-jong, patchwork and quilting, poetry, rambling, reading, theatre and wine appreciation. Meetings are spread through the week, generally during the day. There is a local newsletter and monthly meetings held in Caryford Hall on the last Friday of the month. Subscription £15.00 per year.
Come along to see what we do, meet group leaders and maybe join us!
